The very first Mac software I bought: Papers

There are many software missing from the Apple stores… because a Mac version was never released (or it’s no longer developed, as for my beloved CorelDraw…), but sometimes, combining the best features of Mac OS X into a single piece of software, smart developers can really deliver delicious applications.

Papers is one of them.

It’s just the best software to organize you collection of scientific papers. Can retrieve new ones with the API to query PubMed or Google Scholar, automatically download the PDF (and, cool,.. supports proxy so that you can use your library subscription even when at home), grab all data to organize the database, has a spotlight search box, and Previews your PDFs…

Just too cool, and with a small price for PhD students 🙂
